Basis of the edition

The present edition is based on the photographs available at the Mainzer Photoarchiv of the Hethitologie Portal Mainz, as well as the available hand-copies and relevant secondary literature up to 2019. When the original manuscripts have been collated, this is noted in the commentary.

Commentary

Previous editions: Hazenbos 2003: 90-91.

Collated (March 2020).

rev. 4′: The restoration of the form ḫarniyanzi “they sprinkle” is based on the traces of a Winkelhaken as drawn in the copy; no such traces are visible either on the available photo or on the original manuscript. At the end of the line the reading SANGA is most likely (collated), against UŠ.BAR proposed by Hazenbos 2003: 90 fn. 118.

rev. 8′: The numeral is “1,” contra Hazenbos 2003: 118 fn. 119; the traces of a Winkelhaken visible in the copy belongs to the sign UḪ in the following line.

rev. 9′: The interpretation as maḫḫuela-bread (so already Rüster and Wilhelm 2012: 199) is more likely than a restoration as [ … EZEN4 muḫ]ḫuelašši.
